Hot Shearling Boots Fashion Trends for Cold Weather January 3, 2010

For me, cold weather spells hot chocolate, woolen scarves and shearling boots. Now, shearling boots need not be those chunky things you could only wear during the days you have to dress down. There are hot fashionable shearling boots I could recommend during these winter months and here are some of them:

Born ‘Dona’ Shearling Boots

This ankle boot from Born is one of my favorites because of its snugly comfort and classy style. The ‘Dona’ boot has a leather upper in walnut brown, genuine shearling lining, and great arch support. With lush shearling spilling from the top, it doesn’t just look warm — it feels cozy too. I’d choose Dona with its stacked heel and rubber sole over stilettos during winter because while the latter looks sexy, I won’t look sexy if I slip on ice. My only complaint is that they could be a tad difficult to put on and take off so I don’t advise you wearing these at the airport.

Whenever I feel particularly whimsical, I pull on these wonderful wedge shearling boots by Cole Haan. The cold and wet weather doesn’t hamper on my style when I wear these warm and waterproof shearling-trimmed boots with suede, leather and rip-stop fabric uppers, wool knit lining and rubber sole. Despite its 3 1/3″ wedge heel with raised front platform, these are the boots that I won’t mind wearing all day long. When a friend saw my silver / whites, she instantly fell in love with them and rushed to buy her own pairs in black. And although she has big athletic calves, her Air Caprice Shearling fits her just fine.

The weather may be freezing but these wedged lace up boots with suede upper and shearling trim by Michael Kors are hot! It’s so comfortable I don’t even feel like I’m walking on a wedge heel when I have them on. The lace up front is just darling, although I wish they laced up a bit higher. The boot’s tongue has a tendency to flop over because it doesn’t lace up high enough. These Niagra Boots are stylish nonetheless and they’re just the right pair to wear with my skinny jeans.
